Syncro springs in a 2WD Panel van...

Post by rod1e »

My 2WD (1.6D)van was looking a bit lopsided and I found one of the rear springs only had three coils left on it...
As my syncro (1,6TD) is hanging around waiting for major repairs I put the springs on the panel van... With the 195/14 tyres off the syncro, now I really understand the "wedge"... Looks a bit wacky races, but still, quick and easy fix...
Did an oil change today and noticed the drive shafts are at an alarming angle... Am I going to trash them driving around like this??
Any thoughts...
Do syncros have a longer drive shaft??

Syncros have engines and gearobxes mounted lower to correct driveshaft angles.

Yes they will be wearing fast.

ah well... I guess I'll swap the old and broken one back on 'til I find a spring somewhere...

Thanks...

I think you need to put lowering springs on the front and absolutely mahoosive tyres on the back just to complete the effect. 8)

Sorry, I'm too boring... :( stuck the old springs back on and used one of the rotted ally spring seats to chock up the broken side...

Anyway, bling is hard to find in these parts...
