Diesel fuel and 2 stroke oil

Post by tensilekid »

Hi I had a tip from a mechanic friend that adding 2 stroke mineral oil to the tank would improve performance. I was sceptical but he was insistent
so I tried it. The (JX) engine runs quieter and smoother and seems to pull better at low revs giving a more relaxed drive . Just to add to this
the white smoke at a cold start is much reduced. I mixed in half a litre in a tank giving a 100 to 1 mix.
Does anyone know why this works it seems that the combustion of the fuel is changed rather than additional lubrication.

If you really want to feel a difference, try some of this stuff here Ebay link. I know little about proper Diesel engines, but I do know that stuff certainly gives a very noticeable power boost to the little 2 stroke Diesel engines we use in certain classes of racing model aircraft. Mind you, they refer to ratios of around 500:1 (point 5 %) and we use up to 3%

"pooh" diesel more than the 2 stroke Imo

In rural areas people dilute diesel with all sort to increase volume to make money when selling on

We run 1960 merc 180 fintail from on this mix for quieter running makes more difference in older engines

the adding of two-stroke oil make the engine run more efficiently.....lubricates the injection pump.....keep the injection system clean.....use it every fill up in my boxer.
because it burns so much cleaner soot particles are reduced by up to 40% and a 3-6% increase mph, this research was carried out by a well known german car manufacturer who isn't v or w. you should put 300ml per 70l so about 1:200. I have been adding it for about 7yrs with no problems

As per Ghostys post, I've used 2-EHN a few years back after buying it online cheap. Seat of pants dyno, ears, HVN and MPG all said yes.

I looked into it and majority of cetane increasers and diesel additives had this as bulk property with added kerosene, floral scents, food colouring etc :D
