Re: vw t25 central heating fan
do you mean the vans heating fan or the one in the gas heater in the rear? The vans heating fan is a pig to get at, Its a dash board off job and then some, there is a handy article in the wiki about changing it (they are about £30.00). The one in the heater in the back is a bit easier, you need to take the gas connection off and undo the electrics then take the 4 screws or bolts out to get the unit on the bench. Next undo the screws that fasten the metal box together and reveal the heater and fan assembly, usually it just needs some oil on the bearings and freeing up.

Re: vw t25 central heating fan
Mine is in the van at the bottom of a cupboard is yours a gas propex? If it is you need to do what I said it is a pain but 2 hoses (inlet and exhaust) mark them so you get the right way round later, undo the gas union, remove the hot air outlet duct and inlet duct then disconnect the wiring making a note, take it off and onto the bench. Undo the screws around the edge then lift the case apart.(it's heavy) You will see the fan motor one end and no doubt it will be very stiff to turn (this is the usual failure) Use some machine oil or 3 in 1 on the bearing and get it turning free. Flush out the bearing while turning with more oil. while you are in there give it a brush out and paint any rusty bits of case ( don't paint the combustion chamber that looks like a jet engine cowl). Now put it back together and I bet it works!!
Having said all that these things are very sensitive to voltage and the fan will usually run but the ignition needs a well charged battery!!
If it is not a propex it could be an espacher but these are completely different, the fans however can be replaced separately but they run on a different principle entirely for space heating (more commonly just used for water heating)

One word of caution don't overdo the gas connection on retightening. Just nip it up and test for leaks with washing up liquid. If it bubbles just another 1/8 turn will probably do it and re test. If you go mad it will ugger it up!!!

Re: vw t25 central heating fan
You can send it to propex to be repaired and refurbished, cheaper than a new one.
Do you have a thermostat?

Re: vw t25 central heating fan
can you trace the wiring to the fan motor and apply 12 volts to check if all is well (while the case is off), It is highly unusual for these to fail in any other way than the seized shaft failure. Did you check the output from your control box originally? The motors in these usually go on for ever although I suppose if yours has been used in the arctic convoys the brushes may be worn!!!

The brushes are available but you can order similar sized multi purpose ones on ebay and solder them on.
