Gas connector to a westie stove & fridge
We have been having a chat about gas connections with a 50mbar regulator which was a standard setup on westies. However, I have visited caravan suppliers and none have been able to provide me with a hose that connects to a 50mbar campinggaz regulator (anti clockwise thread) at one end and the connector for the taps at the other end(clockwise thread) shown in the picture. The connector to the gas taps you can see in the photo (strange connection I think)has a male to female design (I hope that makes sense). Some have suggested that a good supplier could make one up. If anybody knows where I can get a new hose I would really appreciate it as I do need a new one.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Gas connector to a westie stove & fridge
Cheers mate. I bought the 2 metre hose from Gunzl, however the connector is too small in diameter to fit to the red tap unit. Or have I bought the wrong hose?
Trying to find the correct hose is driving me nuts. I might have to drive to Gunzl as they seem to sell the red tap units so they must have a hose to fit. The problem that remains is finding the right hose, one that has an anticlockwise thread at the other end to attach to the Campinggaz regulator (this modification was done in Germany). I cannot be the only person who has had this problem.

I think redtap units are connected up with copper piping.

All sorts of goodies here if you want to take a browse.

I've got that site bookmarked should I ever need a regulator.

I forgot about them. Cheers for that! I have now ordered one from them that I hope is the correct one.

Re: Gas connector to a westie stove & fridge
I think what you need is a gas hose with an R1/4 connector. I spent ages hunting one down and got it from this site http://destillatio.shopgate.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but I don't think they are available anymore. Also it wasn't cheap at £20 with the postage, also the 50mbar regulator from Amazon was another £20.

Cheers for that. Once I eventually find the correct hose and connector I will post the result!
