power steering leak help!

one side of my power steering rack has developed a leak told by vw that they do the seals £65.00 plus vat plus £17.00 plus vat a side for the dust covers is it a diy job to change the seals or are any special tools required? has anyone done this job before know of any pit falls? any help welcomed ch...

i had similar prob on my van

heater would work fine but rad was always cold

try running van with heater set to cold position if temp guage shoots up rad is blocked

my old rad looked fine from outside but was blocked up with sludge

externally it just looks like the handles

i think on the old doors the handle also moves up

so prob all the locking system is different

you will probally find the bottle is full but once you start pouring water above the max line into the filler neck it will leak out as the rubber for the spout has perished
