Went back to square one, and borrowed a battery charger. Charged overnight, had another go. Engine turned over medium-slow only, and that was with the jump leads attached as well. Then back to original symptoms after about 10 seconds. So, solenoid etc okay. Battery presumably not. I'll get it tested...

As above, but just to say that the main sticking point seems to be the sourcing of the special sump that is required for a regular VW diesel engine to be fitted to a t25, as a result of it being tilted over to fit in the engine bay. The sump seems to fit most VW diesel engine blocks, but is hard to ...

Normally I'd have run the engine once a month, but haven't done so for several months, because of not k...

Hey, what a blizzard of excellent advice!!! I reckon I'll go with the breakdown cover option (the engine problem is one that would be exacerbated by carrying a heavy load...), but my 2p's worth on train weights would be that I'd expect a towed vehicle to not be a trailer. I picked up a phrase on thi...

towing van with car: legal and practical questions
I've decided to bite the bullet, move out of the hills back into the city where I can earn enough money to own a t25... The van hasn't been driven for many months, except for starting it up every now and again. One or two engine issues, maybe patchable, maybe not. It's got an MoT, and will be taxed/...
